 The 2nd of  November 2009

This fall education is taking up a lot of my time :o)

The 24st-25th of October 2009 I attended a course arranged by the Danish Cavalier Club.

The course was about a number of different things, amongst others we had a day

where we learned about cavalier exterior (by judge and breeder Per C. Knudsen) and

during the weekend we also heard about genetics (by veterinarian Birgitte Schjøth)

and syringo myelia (by veterinarian Mette Berendt).

In the evening there was time for a drink and a laugh in the company of good cavalier friends

A great course that all Cavalier breeders should have attended!

The 31st of October-1st of November 2009 I went to the Danish Kennel Club's

breeders course. It was a really good and educational course, where we also got

time for at friendly talk with some ambitious breeders of many different breeds.

Last but not least the 10th of November I am attending a course called "Puppies on the

way" by veterinarian Birgitte Schjøth. Birgitte is probably the leading veterinarian in

reproduction in Denmark and truly one of a kind in her field.

After this row of courses I hope to be fully prepared to recieve the first little "Canidanes"

who I expect in the Summer of 2010.

The 27th of July 2009

This weekend we were at the annual Cavalier Festival - a good experience every year.

Canis did very well with "very good" saturday and "excellent sunday where he also

became 5th in a very big open class.

Congratulations to Liz Hardy from kennel Master Famous in Norway

(www.masterfamous.com) on her handsome dog Anberan Mocha Sanani, who made

Danish champion this weekend!

The 21st of July 2009

The 27th of June 2009

A big congratulations to Tanja Shumann, kennel du Château Noblesse, Germany, on

her double Rose-Cavalier Xantana Kiss du Château Noblesse - Tria's aunt :o)

The 14th of June 2009

We have participated in a big two days dog show in Vejen and it went really well!!

Canis got "very good" both days and became 4th winner of his class Saturday and 3rd

winner of his class today. He was handled by junior handler Freja Quvang Jørgensen.

Tria did super as well! She got "very good" and became 2nd winner in her class Saturday

and today she got "excellent" and won her class ! !

The 15th of May 2009

Tria's eyes have been examined by eye specialist Claus Bundgaard Nielsen

at Aarhus Animal Hospital and no hereditary or non-hereditary eye diseases

where diagnosed.

The 11th of May 2009

My guestbook is finally up and running so do not hesitate to write a message in it :o)

The 9th of May 2009

New pictures of both Tria and Canis - look under each dog

under "The dogs"

The 3rd of May 2009

Yesterday the 2nd of May, we were at the Danish Kennel Club's international show in

Aalborg. Canis was handled by junior handler Freja Quvang Joergensen and it went

REALLY well! The old dog was really showing and he liked Freja very much. He got

a "very good" and became 4. best in the open male class :o) It will not be the last time

Freja handles Canis, if it is up to me!

Tria did not do so well and had to settle with a disappointing "sufficient" because of

her irregular bite. We are hoping for better days...

Congratulations to BOB Morberg's Panik and BOS Amazing Cavalier's Anitha on their

qualifications for Cruft's ! !

The 25th of April 2009

Some new pictures of Tria in her gallery

The 20th of April 2009

New point in the menu - "The kennel" - with pictures of our new home.

The 19th of April 2009

Today we have been at a national show in Hedensted. Both dogs had to settle with

"good", but the judge had a lot of nice things to say about them both after all. All in all we

must not be too sad about the judgeing, because the judge, Svend Loevenkaer, did not

give anything away. Only 2 dogs out of 47 got "excellent" and some dogs got "sufficient".

We hope for mere luck in Aalborg in a couple of weeks, where there is also qualification

for Crufts.

The 18th of April 2009

I wrote yesterday that nothing was new in the kennel. That is not entirely true...

Kennel Canidan has moved out in the country! We are now living in a country house

with 11 ha. consisting of a newly planted forrest, meadow and lakes near the town

Holsted in Jutland :o) A true paradise for both the dogs and us and a place, where

we are looking foreward to visits from a lot of dog-friends.

The 17th of April 2009

After a slow periode on canidan.dk, I am back! As the alert user of my HP will notice,

the page has got a new design. On top of that I am now able to update the page by my self,

witch means, that news is actually still news when published ;o)

A huge thank you for Anja from kennel Souvinier, who has helped me with the HP !

Not a lot has happened lately, but we have been to a show in Aarslev, where both dogs

did very vell. In Aarslev the annual general meeting of the Cavalier Club ttok place and I

will like to thank all the members who voted for me at the election for the committee.

The 14th of February 2009

We have entered one more show! Both dogs were very good and did great. Canis became 3. winner (9 dogs entered) with exc. in open class and Tria became 2. winner (also 9 dogs entered) with "very promising" in puppy class. I am very proud of both of them ! !

The 24th of January 2009

On Saturday the 24th of January we attendet a show in Haarlev.

Tria was once again a true pearl and she got "Very Promising" and became 3rd out af 8 puppy bitches. Canis was also shown. He had a very good time but had to settle for a "very good".

Tria's criticism from judge Marja Kurittu from Finland:

"Very lovely type of black and tan, lovely head and expression, excellent front and rear, excellent coat quality, very happy temperament, moves and shows very well."

The 24th of January 2009

A new picture of Tria 6 months old in her gallery - look at her profile under "The dogs".

the 9th of January 2009

On Friday the 9th of January I defended my master thesis "Evaluation of the breeding program against myxomatous mitral valve disease in Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in the Danish Kennel Club" and I am now a veterinarian.

I would like to thank everyone for the great attention at my defence!

The 30th of November 2008:

Thais Saturday we were at a show i Naestved. Tria acted like a real star and showed her self very nicely! You can see more under the dogs show results and under Trias gallery.

The 9th of November 2008:

The weekend has been all about shows.

Saturday Canis was shown at DKK's international show in Herning and he got "very good". On sunday at the Cavalier Club show in Vildbjerg, Canis was shown and got "excellent" and a good review and Tria had her début in the show ring! She got "very promising" and behaved so good! She was not the least nervous and seemed to enjoy the attention :o)

The 5th of October 2008:

Today Canis was showed in open class at the Cavalier Club's show in Haarlev. He got "excellent" and became 3rd in his class (there were 12 dogs in the class).

The critique from judge David R. Crossley, England:

"Good sound well made dog, good rich ruby colour, correct head, good shoulderplacement, would have liked a little more neck, strong hindquartes, correct tailset and carriage, good movement."

Tria came with us to experience the atmosphere and she handled it so well! She was not at all nervous and seemed as if she enjoyed the attention from all the nosy people who wantet to see her.

The 28th of September 2008:

The kennel Canidan homepage is up and running :o)
