It is the goal of Canidan to breed Cavalier King Charles Spaniels that are both mentally

and physically typical to their breed, with the health of the dogs as an uttermost priority.

I, Maj-Britt, was born in 1980, and in the early spring of 2009, I graduated as a

veterinarian. My finishing paper was about the heart-scanning programme in

the Cavalier Club in Denmark. I now work at Helle Veterinarians in Varde.

In addition to my veterinary education I have attended several courses arranged by

the Danish Kennel Club.

Kennel Canidan is seated in beautiful surroundings near Nordenskov, Varde. We are pleased

about  the great meadows and green firelds  just outside the door - pure rustic idyll og the perfect surroundings for both man and dogs.

The foundation for Kennel Canidan was laid back in the late months of 2004,

when I grasped the opportunity to get my first very own dog. I was scouting through

the vast jungle that is the variety of dog breeds for a while, but in the end there was

not a doubt in my mind, that the Cavalier was the right choice for me.

Nor was I in doubt, that my dog should have a DKK/FCI-pedigree . My first choice was

a black and tan male with healthy parents, but as it turned out, such a dog was not

easy to come about here in Denmark. I was queued up for a puppy several places,

but my luck kept failing on me. This one time it went terribly wrong, because of

illness in the bitch, she had to be sterilized during the pregnancy. I was also queued up

for a puppy in Germany, but unfortunately the bitch only gave birth to 2 bitches.

So I tried my luck in Sweden at Kennel Damehill, where the only 2 b/t ones to be

born were bitches, and the 2 males were both ruby.

As most other people in search of a new puppy, my patience was running out, so

when Gunilla from kennel Damehill asked if I would consider getting a ruby male,

I said yes and 8 weeks later, more precisely on the 10’th of June 2005 I went to

Sweeden and came home with Damehill’s Valient Vagabond a.k.a. Canis.

Canis has sired some wonderful puppies but today he has retired from breeding

because his heart status does not live up to my ambitions in that area.

I hope you will enjoy my HP and that you will ask if you have any questions.

Best regards
